The north-Texas area track was plagued with torrential rain throughout the day with three Grade 1 events being contested over a sloppy race track.
Leading contender for year-end championship honors Empressum didn't disappoint, giving fans a track record-breaking performance in the Texas Classic Derby(G1) final.
Steve Holt and Jeff Jones' Empressum capped off a year of nine wins in 10 starts with earnings of $969,755. He also won the Ruidoso QH Derby(G1), Rainbow QH Derby(G1) and the Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Derby(RG2).
