HELENA, MT—NOVEMBER 9, 2021—The Montana Board of Horse Racing has issued a total of 14 live race dates to tracks in Miles City and Great Falls.
The Miles City Bucking Horse Sale meet will run seven days in 2022, up from four days in 2021. The dates for the Miles City meet are May 7-8, 14-15, and 20-22.
The Great Falls Turf Club was also approved for a seven-day season, up from five days in 2021. The Great Falls meet will run July 16-17, 23-24, and 29-31.
The Montana Board of Horse Racing on Monday issued a press release stating that it was making progress reviving a horse racing industry that once offered more than 140 days of racing per year at as many as 14 tracks throughout the state.
At the November 3 board meeting, executive secretary Tom Tucker reported that the board's finances are "solidly in the black," allowing it to promote more racing and more tracks in the state.
All funds distributed by the Montana Board of Horse Racing come from live racing handle revenues, Montana Fantasy Sports ticket sales, and Advance Deposit Wagering handles and licensing.
