BLANCO, TX—NOVEMBER 9, 2021—Cross Triangle Ranch announced today they have retired Grade 1 winner Apollitical Patty and Grade 2 winner Aint She Tempting from racing and they are slated to join Julianna Hawn Holt's premier broodmare band in 2022.
Both are multiple graded stakes winning 3-year-old fillies.
APOLLITICAL PATTY
Grade 1 winner Apollitical Patty finished second in her last start, the Grade 1 $925,650 Los Alamitos Super Derby Sunday night (Nov. 7) at Los Alamitos Race Course. Under the direction of trainer Monty Arrossa the daughter of leading third-crop sire Apollitical Blood won eight of 14 career starts and earned $1,243,263.
As a two-year-old Apollitical Patty won the $1,942,250 Los Alamitos 2 Million Futurity(G1), the Los Alamitos Juvenile Challenge Stakes and was a finalist in the $1,104,550 Golden State Million Futurity(G1).

Bred by Jim Walker, Apollitical Patty is a half-sister to AQHA Racing Champion and Champion of Champions(G1) winner Zoomin For Spuds SI 107 (17 wins, $879,921 to 8, 2021), stakes winners Bux For Cocktail SI 111 ($50,258), Jesses Perfect One SI 103 ($28,362 at 2) and stakes-placed Doing Trix SI 96 ($24,897), etc.
The second dam is the stakes winning and stakes-producing Chicks Beduino mare A Perfect Strawberry SI 96 ($37,524), dam of three black type including stakes winner Mr Final Straw SI 107, Mr Perfect Fame SI 97 and stakes-placed William Clyde SI 97.
AINT SHE TEMPTING
Julianna purchased Grade 2 Oklahoma Futurity winner Aint She Tempting a year ago from owners Levings Racing LLC and Dunn Ranch, following a second-place finish in the $1,104,550 Golden State Million Futurity(G1) at Los Alamitos Race Course.
The sorrel filly kicked off her 3-year-old campaign by winning her trial and qualifying for the Grade 3 $427,500 Los Alamitos Oaks(G3), finishing second in the final to her stablemate Apollitical Patty.
In August she won her final start, the Grade 2 $197,700 Golden State Derby at Los Alamitos, pushing her 3-year-old earnings to $160,359.
Bred in Utah by McColee Land & Livestock LLC, Aint She Tempting compiled a (12) 5-5-1 record and earned $727,527. She won the Oklahoma Futurity(G2), Golden State Derby(G2) and was runner-up in the Golden State Million Futurity(G1) and the Heritage Place Futurity(G1.
Aint She Tempting is out of the Corona Cartel mare Preslee The First, a sister to Rainbow Futurity(G1) winner Ms First Prize Rose ($550,105), Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity winner and leading third-crop sire Coronado Cartel ($416,178), Rainbow Juvenile winner Denver Pass ($120,994) and Firecracker Futurity(G2) runner-up Itea ($64,711).

The second dam is Heritage Place Futurity (G1) winner First Carolina ($415,047) by Mr Jess Perry, a sister to Remington Park Futurity(G1) winner First Prize Leesa ($488,270), Remington Park Futurity(G1) winner First Prize Robin ($295,147) and Texas Classic Futurity(G1) runner-up First Prize Perry ($243,946).
Former Broodmare of the Year Fast Prize Dash, a Dash For Cash sister to all-time leading sire First Down Dash, is the third dam. This is the immediate family of Heritage Place Futurity(G1) winner and multiple Grade 1 producer Fast First Prize ($244,929) and leading sire Heza Fast Dash.
Aint She Tempting will join Holt's premier broodmare band at her Cross-Triangle Ranch near Blanco following her race career.
Bennie Greathouse, longtime Cross Triangle Ranch manager, said no decision has been made on which stallions the two fillies will go to in 2022.
In 2021 Julianna was the #4 leading consignor at the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale with only eight yearlings that grossed $1,627,000 for an average of $203,357 per head.
The two new additions to her broodmare band will join the likes of Champions Apollitical Time, Stylish Jess BR and Coronas First Diva and Grade 1 winner Big Biz Perry.
