Fastest qualifier L Bar D Mistr Cartel will head a field of 10 2-year-olds entered back in Monday’s 400-yard, $83,000 Far West Futurity at Grants Pass Downs.

GRANTS PASS, OR—NOVEMBER 7, 2021—L Bar D Mistr Cartel, a homebred Majestic Cartel gelding racing for F. Darrell and Linda Sanders, heads a field of 10 2-year-olds entered back in Monday’s 400-yard, $83,000 Far West Futurity at Grants Pass Downs.

L Bar D Mistr Cartel has earned $19,550 from four starts, all in Oregon, and his record includes a second-place finish, a neck behind winner Five Bars Blazin, in the 350-yard, $90,000 Firecracker Futurity on the Fourth of July. The gray gelding drew post 9 and will be ridden by Armando R. Cervantes.

Other contenders include B The One, a graded stakes placed son of Five Bar Cartel trained by Jose Rosales Gomez for owner CB Stables. B The One has won three of seven races and has banked $27,170, and the colt is coming off of a summer campaign in Idaho where he ran second, a nose behind winner Runaway Witch, in the July 30, $119,000 Bitterroot Futurity (RG3) at Pocatello Downs.

B The One drew post 10 and will be ridden by Cesar T. Moreno.
