LOS ALAMITOS, CA—OCTOBER 29, 2021—Seventy-nine horses have entered the 10-race program on Saturday night which makes a solid average field per race of 7.9.
The card will also feature four allowance events, highlighted by 1,000-yard allowance test featuring multiple stakes winner Ballast Point, who has posted some of the fastest times around the turn in the history of Los Alamitos Race Course.
Owned by Thompson Racing and Paul Jones, Ballast Point owns the track record and fastest ever by a Quarter Horse at 1,000 yards of :51.67. Henry Reynoso Lopez will ride the son of Favorite Cartel, who will make his first start here since April 17. The outstanding veteran has won eight of 21 starts.
The first allowance event of the night will take place in race number three when seven get together in a conditioned event. Solid veteran Ed Gatty and Reckoning Day, who won at this distance here two races back, are among the ones to watch.
The card also has a pair of Quarter Horse allowance dashes slated as races eight and 10. The eighth race, $13,500 allowance at 300 yards is led by impressive local winner Amadeus MV and Ruidoso maiden winner Terrific Chrome.
Ruidoso winners Jess Right On Cue and She Bleeds Speed head the 10th race.
