AURORA, CO—OCTOBER 3, 2021—Ten 2-year-olds, headed by stakes winners True and Flare For Royalty, are entered in Friday’s 400-yard, $75,000 Mile High Futurity at Arapahoe Park near Denver.
The seventh-fastest qualifier and a $21,000 purchase at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale, True is owned and trained by Hipolito Michel-Valverde. The Seperate Interest colt won two of his three starts during the Canterbury Park meet, including the 350-yard, $137,000 Mystic Lake Northlands Futurity on August 11.
True drew post 3 and will be ridden by Ramiro Garcia.
Flare For Royalty races for Hugo Barron-Sierra from the barn of trainer Jose Manuel Barron. A $4,000 buy at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling sale, the Flare For Ivory gelding has banked $36,792 from three outs at Arapahoe Park, and his two wins include a three-quarter length victory in the 330-yard, $82,000 Cherry Creek Futurity (R) for Colorado-breds on August 27.
Flare For Royalty drew post 2 and will be ridden by Alan Hernandez.
Also on Friday, fastest qualifier Do You Do For Zoomin is one of 10 sophomores entered back in the 400-yard, $75,000 Mile High Derby.
Trained by Jose Chavez for owner Jose Castaneda, Do You Do For Zoomin has won both of his outs at Arapahoe Park this year, including the first of three Mile High Derby trials on September 16. The Zoomin For Bux filly was a $10,000 claimer during the SunRay Park sprint meet, and she has earned $14,975 from eight starts.
Do You Do For Zoomin drew post 8 and will be ridden by Valente Vorrath.
