Q-RACING—OCTOBER 20, 2021—The Downs at Albuquerque hosts the Bank of America Challenge Championships for the third year in a row on Saturday (Oct. 23). The strong card of 10 stakes races is filled with top horses from all over North America. The special event’s first post is at 4 p.m. (MDT).
The first five races are Challenge undercard races, including the Sandia Stakes for distance horses, the Albuquerque Juvenile stakes for 2-year-olds, the Lobo Derby for sophomores, the Pitre GMC Distaff Stakes for fillies and mares, and the Downs Casino Stakes for 3-year-olds and up.
The $100,000 Cox Ranch Distance Challenge Championship (G1) is the sixth race on the card, with a post time of 6:05 p.m.
The morning-line favorite at 5-2 is reigning champion distance horse Madewell.

Next up on the card is the $125,000 John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship (G2). The morning-line favorite is Apolinaria Prize, who comes into the race off a big win in the John Deere Emerald Downs Juvenile Challenge.
