GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—OCTOBER 2, 2021—After a slight bobble at the start under jockey Francisco Calderon, A Pollitical Gal surged to a half-length win over Tempting Knockout in the $27,676 Q-Racing Video Lone Star Distaff Challenge Saturday night at Lone Star Park.
The daughter of leading sire Apollitical Jess completed the 400 yards in :19.692 seconds, equaling a 95 speed index on sloppy (sealed) racetrack into a 2 mph crosswind. It was the third win in eight starts and first career stakes win for the Oklahoma-bred.
Trainer Clinton Crawford conditions A Pollitical Gal for owner L Hendrix Horses LLC. The 3-year-old filly was making her first start since seventh place finish in the Grade 2 Heritage Place Derby on May 29th.

Runner-up Tempting Knockout earned $5,812 for owner-breeder P & J Racing Ltd. Toby Keeton trains the Tempting Dash 3-year-old out of Passem Up Perry by Mr Jess Perry. Winner of John Buchanan Memorial Stakes two races back, Tempting Knockout has earned $67,470.
Scott Bryant's Jess Agree finished 1-¼ lengths back to pickup $2,906 for third. Trainer Michael Joiner named Jose Alvarez to ride the daughter of Apollitical Jess from the Mr Eye Opener mare Eye Agree. Jess Agree has won three of nine career starts and banked $19,856.
Tempting Violet, Cartels Blessing, War Eagle and Hot Lady Returns completed the field.
