GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—SEPTEMBER 28, 2021—Tempting Knockout, a homebred 3-year-old daughter of Tempting Dash racing for P & J Racing Ltd., is one of seven fillies and mares entered in Saturday’s 400-yard, $27,676 Q-Racing Video Lone Star Distaff Challenge Stakes at Lone Star Park.
Tempting Knockout will be making her first start since June 23, when the sorrel filly finished third, 1 3/4 lengths behind winner Greysland, in the 330-yard, $50,000 La Villita Stakes (R) for state-bred sophomore fillies at Sam Houston Race Park. Tempting Knockout has earned $43,660 from three outs this year, and her season resume includes a half-length victory in the 350-yard, $54,000 John Buchannan Memorial Stakes (R) on May 28.
Tempting Knockout drew post 4 and will be ridden by Luis Vivanco for trainer Toby Keeton.
Trainer Clint Crawford will send out A Pollitical Gal, a 3-year-old daughter of world champion Apollitical Jess, for owner L Hendrix Horses LLC. A Pollitical Gal will be facing older distaffers for the first time, but during the Remington Park spring meet she qualified to two graded stakes for sophomores, including the May 29, $361,000 Heritage Place Futurity (G1).
A Pollitical Gal drew post 2 and will be ridden by Francisco Calderon.
The winner of this race will earn the season’s final regional berth to the October 23, $100,000 Q-Racing Video Distaff Challenge Championship (G1) at The Downs at Albuquerque.
