CLAREMORE, OK—SEPTEMBER 11, 2021—Quorumm, under jockey Agustin Silva, got up to defeat Jc Wild King by a neck on Sunday while setting the fastest qualifying time for the Adequan Will Rogers Derby Challenge at Will Rogers Downs.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to the Claremore racetrack on Sunday, October 3rd to vie for the winner's share of a $30, 000 added purse going 400 yards. Also at stake will be the final berth for the $125,000-est. Adequan Derby Challenge Championship(G3) to be contested on October 27th at The Downs at Albuquerque.

Conditioned by trainer Michelle Hurdle, Quorumm completed the 400 yards in 19.733 seconds, a 99 speed index into a 10 mph crosswind, to get the top qualifying mark from the two trial races.

Quorumm, a Texas-bred son of leading sire Tres Seis, races for owner J.J. Racing. AQHA Racing Champion Breeder Bobby D. Cox bred the gray gelding from the Apollitical Jess mare Apolitical Pac. He has compiled a (9) 2-2-1 record and banked $28,000. Quorumm was second in the John Deere Prairie Meadows Juvenile Challenge in 2020.

Coming off a win in the Speedhorse Derby in his last start on.July 24th, Jc Wild King held on to the second fastest time of :19.758, a 98 speed index, for owner-breeder Jose Cervantes.

Trainer Fidencio Jimenez named champion jockey James Flores to ride the son of leading sire Apollitical Jess from the Stoli mare Oh Cherokee Rose. Second in the Grade 2 John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship and winner of the John Deere Will Rogers Juvenile Challenge last fall, Jc Wild King has earned $80,281.

Jose Mendoza's Charlies Fast Man was a neck winner in the second trial to get the third-fastest time of :20.059, a 91 speed index. Salvador Martinez rode the Apollitical Blood colt out of the First Down Dash mare Alltherightcurves.

Eloy Navarro trains the Rillito Park Juvenile Challenge Stakes winner of $22,394. Marshall Watson bred Charlies Fast Man in Oklahoma.
