Attendees get a true behind-the-scenes look into the industry. Participants will be selected based on their combined score from the application and the Racing Skillathon. Five AQHYA members will be selected to attend the National Racing Experience.
During the trip to the Challenge Championships, National Racing Experience participants will also go through an interview round where they can share their knowledge and passion for racing and their abilities as an ambassador for the sport.
Applicants who are accepted for the National Racing Experience are automatically entered into a competition with fellow participants for the chance to win $6,000 in scholarship award money – $3,000 is awarded to first place, $2,000 is awarded to second place and $1,000 is awarded to third place. The final results for the National Racing Experience and the scholarship awards will be determined from the cumulative score of the application, skillathon, and all activities.
To participate in the national event, youth must be at least 16 years old at the time of the event to apply. Racing affiliates can recommend one youth from their AQHYA Regional Racing Experience, but must submit it by September 10. Youth can also apply to be an at-large participant.
