AQHA Racing Champion Dulce Sin Tacha Retired

GUTHRIE, OK—OCTOBER 30, 2021—AQHA Racing Champion 2-year-old of 2020 Dulce Sin Tacha has been retired from racing and will begin his stallion career in 2022 at Lazy E Ranch in Guthrie, Oklahoma. His fee will be $4,500.

The son of leading second-crop sire Jess Good Candy suffered a non-racing related injury.

"After consulting with Dr. Tommy Hays, we have decided that the best thing to do in this situation is to retire Dulce Sin Tacha today," trainer Heath Taylor told TRACK Magazine's Monday Report. "Had the trials (Texas Classic Derby) fallen in two or three weeks I am certain he could have run and run well."

"It has been honor for me to train this horse for Bob and Jerry Gaston. While we are all somewhat saddened that we will not get to see this magnificent horse in the winner's circle again, as we had hoped, we so know that this the right thing to do," Taylor says.

With eight wins and three seconds, from 11 career starts, Dulce Sin Tacha has earned $693,689. He won the Texas Classic Futurity(G1), All American QH Invitational and was second in the Rainbow QH Derby(G1) and the All American Juvenile.

“This horse checks all the boxes for knowledgeable horsemen – tremendous conformation, soundness from day one, a pedigree to die for and he was a Champion and Grade 1 winner at 400 yards at 2, plus 5-time winner at Ruidoso and was the Texas Classic Futurity G1 winner over a stellar field," Lazy E Ranch co-manager and AQHA Past President Butch Wise said earlier this year

"Importantly for breeders today, his pedigree is devoid of Corona Cartel. We are extremely grateful to Bob and Jerry for the trust and confidence they have placed in us by allowing us to continue our long association with their incredible breeding program," Wise added.
