TRAFALGAR, IN—AUGUST 27, 2021—Stakes winner and track record setter Flare For Ivory got his first stakes winner today (Friday) when Flare For Royalty won the $82,480 Cherry Creek Futurity at Arapahoe Park.

The 330-yard event was restricted to Colorado-bred 2-year-olds. Flare For Royalty’s final time of 16.904 earned him a 98 speed index.

Under jockey James Flores, Flare For Royalty won three-quarters. Jose Barron trains for owner Hugo Barron-Sierra. Jerry and Shanon Fizer bred the gelding out of Royalclassic Express, by A Classic Dash.

The son of first-crop sire Flare For Ivory won his trial on August 12 and was the tenth fastest qualifier from four trials to the futurity. He is undefeated in two starts and added the winner’s share of $32,992 to his career earnings that now total $35,812.
