GUTHRIE, TX—MARCH 14, 2021—Bigtime Favorite, a Grade 1 son of Chicks Beduino and champion sire, was euthanized on March 1 from complications of old age. He was 19.
Campaigned by Bobby D. Cox and Syliva Shaw Pitman, Bigtime Favorite won or placed in 12 of 19 career starts while earning $324,000. He won the Ben E. Keith Stakes was second in the Texas Classic Futurity(G1), Sam Houston Futurity(G1), and SLM Big Daddy Stakes.
Trained by the late John Buchanan, Bigtime Favorite was also a finalist in the Sam Houston Derby(G2), Texas Juvenile Challenge(G2), Eastex H.(G3), Classic S. [R] (G3), Remington Park Invitational Championship and Harrah's Entertainment Derby.
Bigtime Favorite began his breeding career at Hart Farms in Louisiana before moving to the 6666 Ranch in Guthrie, Texas. From 12 crops to reach racing age he is the sire of 187 winners, 27 stakes hoses, earners in excess of $7.2 million and average earning per starter of more than $19,100.
