KAPLAN, LA—FEBRUARY 9, 2020—Breeders who book to restricted Grade 1 winner Louisiana Jambalaya SI 99 this month (February) can take advantage of Spring Hills Farm special offer to to breed for the booking fee only of $500 plus shipping. The multiple stakes winning son of Jet Black Patriot stands for a 2021 fee of $1,000.
"Foals are staring to hit the ground from Louisiana Jambalaya's first season at Spring Hill," farm owner David Dunn said. "We are getting reports from mare owners who bred last year that they love their foals."
Owned by Carters Quarter Horses LLC, Louisiana Jambalaya won or placed in nine of 15 career starts while banking $266,346. He won the Louisiana QHBA Sale Futurity(RG1), Louisiana Champions Day Juvenile S.(RG2) and was second in the Louisiana QHBA Derby.
"Louisiana Jambalaya was a very talented horse with a good head on his shoulders from the time of breaking him to his first race, very smart and never missed a beat," trainer Justin Dehart said of the Grade 1 winner. "He has a very good bloodline and talent to pass on to his foals. It was a blessing to train and have him in my barn."
Louisiana Jambalaya was named the LQHBA Champion 2-Year-Old Colt of 2014 and the LQHBA Champion 3-Year-Old Colt of 2015.
His sire is the former leading Louisiana stallion Jet Black Patriot SI 110 ($956,921) winner of the Louisiana QHBA Futurity(RG1), Lee Berwick Futurity(RG1), Mardi Gras Futurity(RG2) and runner=up in the All American Futurity(G1) at 2.
Louisiana Jambalaya is out of the multiple stakes producing Royal Quick Dash mare Iwanna Dash SI 91 ($14,576), a sister to Grade 1 stakes winner and sire Spanish Boot SI 104 ($128,208), etc. She is the dam of 10 winners, four black type including multiple graded Louisiana Jambalaya SI 99 (see above), restricted G3-placed Louisiana Panther SI 107 ($150,023), stakes winner Heza Gonna Dash SI 104 ($139,804), stakes winner More Nachos SI 100 ($12,931), etc.
From only four foals in his first crop to race, Louisiana Jambalaya sired two winners including Coronasandjambalaya (winner at 2, $5,622) and A Toast To winner at 2, $4,800). His second crop will race in 2021.
