GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—NOVEMBER 27, 2021—Whirlaway Wagon broke on top and never looked back in the $58,675 Texas Classic Juvenile Stakes, a consolation race for the Texas Classic Futurity on Saturday night at Lone Star.
Whirlaway Wagon ($9.60) and Mario Delgado finished in 19.822 for the 400-yard event and earned a 92 speed index.
James Gonzalez, III trains the Whirlaway Red gelding for owner Roberto Chacon. He was bred in Oklahoma by Buckskin Ec Inc, out of Lil miss Party Doll, by Pyc Paint Your Wagon.
Whirlaway Wagon has earned $85,851 in his seven career starts with four victories. He won the Remington Park Juvenile Stakes in his second lifetime start and won his Texas Classic Futurity trial earlier this month.

Post-time favorite Hot Ivory Eyes made up ground quickly and finished just a head behind Whirlaway Wagon in second place. Raul Ramirez, Jr. was in the irons for trainer Trey Wood.
Of the horses that did not qualify to the Texas Classic, Hot Ivory Eyes was the fifth fastest overall and the fastest from the second night of trials.
Hot Ivory Eyes is one for five lifetime but has three second place finishes and competed in the Rainbow Juvenile this summer.
Throwin Sumoke and Ricky Ramirez finished in third for trainer Mike Joiner. The Apollitical Jess gelding is owned by Lucky Ladies and was bred in Arkansas by Corner K Quarter Horses LLC, out of the graded stakes winning mare Sumokin, by Country Chicks Man.
Throwin Sumoke broke his maiden at Lone Star and won his Texas Classic trial.
Completing the field were U Go Gal, Kj Wildthang, Ryder Lee, Win in Doubt, Running a Big Wave and Especially Jess. I Was Mooned was scratched.
