CLAREMORE, OK—NOVEMBER 13, 2021—Wl Hector Live, a 3-year-old son of multiple stakes sire Kool Wagon (QH) was a slight surprise at 11-1 when he defeated Power Fade by half-a-length in the $15,900 Don Drake Memorial Stakes, for 3-year-old Paints and Appaloosas at Will Rogers Downs, on Saturday. Post time favorite Mammy Jammer finished a neck back in third.
Under jockey Justine Klaiber, Wl Hector Lives raced over the 350 yards in :17,684 seconds, equaling a 94 speed index with a 4 mph tailwind.
Trainer Eddie D. Willis conditions the APHA gelding for owners Jeff Carter and Justin Massey. It the first stakes win and fourth career win in 13 starts for Wl Hector Lives.

Wl Hector Lives returned $22.80 to win, $8 to place and $2.80 to show.
Runner-up Power Fade, by world champion Painted Turnpike, earned $3,126 for finishing second. Dee Keener trains the multiple stakes winner for owners Loyd Yother and Garvan Kelly. Kelly/Yearsley Equine LLC bred the brown filly in Oklahoma from the Fade To Fame mare Fade Shot. She has earned $108,827 in 14 starts.
Third-place finisher Mammy Jammer was hoping for her second consecutive stakes win at the Will Rogers Fall meet. Cody Wainscott had the riding call for trainer Ray Enlow and owner Roy Perkins. Enlow bred the Crm Livewire filly from the Little Jungle Jet mare Dashin DD. She earned $1,791 for today's effort and has banked $112,329.
Paint Your Lips, This Wire Is Hot, Wf Gitter Dun Tales U Lose and Ring My Barb Wire completed the field. Js Shezaquickchick and Queen For Cash were scratched.
