OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—NOVEMBER 6, 2021—Heritage Place Sale Company wrapped up its 44th annual Fall Mixed Sale on Saturday afternoon in Oklahoma City with record gains across the board.
"We had a great sale with across the board increases in every session," Heritage Place General Manager said Saturday evening.
Saturday's closing session averaged $15,125 on horses sold, a 51% increase in the average sale price compared to last year's closing session.
Of the 544 head offered over two days at this year's sale, Heritage Place reported that 490 head sold for gross receipts of $7,531,900 compared to 474 head sold in 2020 for $5,123,300. The fall mixed average and median also set records at $15,371 and $10,000, respectively. The buyback rate was 10%, one of the lowest ever achieved.

James Ranch, Agent, consigned the unraced mare who sold in-foal to leading sire Apollitical Jess.
Hip 282, Speed Dynasty, a 3-year-old son of world champion sire FDD Dynasty was also purchased for $170,000 on Friday by Sue Floyd and Jeremy Trujillo. Lazy E Ranch, LLC, Agent for J & SM, Inc. as the consignor.
Sheri Miller purchased the second high-seller Hip 390 Lena Cartel for $106,000. Marty Powers, Agent consigned the G2-placed daughter of Carters Cartel from the Mr Jess Perry mare Miss Lena Perry.
Mireya Castro Villarreal was the sale's leading buyer with 13 purchases for $175,400. Sue Floyd and Jeremy Trujillo had one purchase for $170,000 and Jim Streelman and Bill Dale had the one purchase for $170,000.
Marty Powers, Agent was the leading consignor and/or agent with 24 head grossing $491,800. Bobby D. Cox sold 12 head for $365,700. James Ranch, Agent sold 7 head for $276,700.
Freighttrain B was the leading yearling sale sire (by average with two or more sold) with three yearlings averaging $48,000. Apollitical Jess had three yearlings for a $40,333 average and first-crop sale sire KVN Corona had two yearling average $38,000.
Apollitical Jess was the leading covering sire (by average with two or more sold) with two in-foal mares averaging $107,500. First-year sale sire Flying Cowboy 123 had five in-foal mares average $49,200 and Epic Leader had two in-foal mares average $27,000.
