AMERICAN QUARTER HORSE ASSOCIATION—AUGUST 11, 2021—The connections of top distance horse Wascallywittlewabbit have late-enrolled the gelding into the Bank of America Racing Challenge, paying the $20,000 fee to give the horse access to Challenge races for the remainder of his racing career.

Wascallywittlewabbit is owned by Rogers Farms, and to date he has earned $189,015 in his 19-race career. Already this year, he has won the Pauls Valley Stakes (G2) and Remington Park Distance Championship (G1), and with a late enrollment into the AQHA Albuquerque Distance Challenge, sets his sights on qualifying to the Cox Ranch Distance Challenge Championship (G1) on October 23.

Of the sport’s 10 most recent champion distance horses, nine have participated in the Challenge program, including the two most recent, who both won the AQHA Albuquerque Distance Challenge and then the Cox Ranch Distance Challenge Championship (G1) on their way to being named a champion.

The reigning champion distance horse, Madewell, has earned 56 percent of his career $257,388 earnings in the Bank of America Racing Challenge.

Wascallywittlewabbit is a 2015 gelding by Heza Motor Scooter and out of the Rabbits Rainbow mare Rabbits N Diamonds. He was bred by Mike Weatherly. His late sire is one of the top 30 sires of Challenge horses by money earned, including the program’s all-time leading money earner, champion Rylees Boy.
