CLAREMORE, OK—NOVEMBER 13, 2021—Paint Your Lips P surprised at 17-1 odds Saturday when she won the $274,970 Black Gold Oaks Championship Futurity by one-length over another longshot Bv Poetry In Motion (17-1).

Jockey Justin Klaiber rode her third winner on Saturday's card for trainer Eddie D. Willis when guided Paint Your Lips P to a wire-to-wire win in :19.865 seconds, a 95 speed index into a 6 mph crosswind.

Racing for owners Oscar Rohne and Priscilla Arredondo, Paint Your Lips P earned $109,916 for the win, bringing her seasonal earnings mark to $121,553 from six starts. The Oklahoma-bred daughter of leading second-crop sire Jess Good Candy is out of the multiple graded stakes winning Jess Louisiana Blue mare Jess Paint Your Lips. Michael Pohl is the breeder.

Trainer Eddie Lee Willis saddled runner-up Bv Poetry In Motion, a homebred daughter of multiple stakes sire Coronado Cartel, for owner-breeder Bella Vista Farms. Ruben Castro had the riding call aboard the gray filly who was making only her fifth career start. Out of the Eyesa Special mare Eyesa First, Bv Poetry In Motion used the second place payday of $46,714 to increase her bankroll to $66,697.

Rollin Country Girl, a daughter of Mighty B Valiant, finished a neck back in third to earn $30,227 for owner-breeder Ellen Kennedy Racing LLC. Trainer Jose Villafranco conditions the sorrel filly out of Jess Because I Could by Feature Mr Jess. Fernando Fonseca-Soto had riding call aboard the $42,589 earner.

Fastest qualifier and post-time favorite Miss Beth Dutton was bumped hard at start and earned $24,731 for her fourth-place effort. Clinton Crawford conditions the daughtera leading third-crop sire Kiss My Hocks for owners Judy and Conda Maze.

Sparky Kazaam, One Kiss At A Time, Relentless Babe, Kiss And Teller, Lillie Langtry and Prodijee completed the field.
