Flashin Fire Gets Fourth Consecutive Win In $300,940 New Mexico Classic Futurity-RG2

HOBBS, NM—OCTOBER 31, 2021—It was speed all the way for Flashin Fire as he raced to his second stakes win this year when he defeated Jess Ring The Bell by a neck in the $300,940 New Mexico Classic Futurity(RG2) Sunday afternoon at Zia Park.

Under jockey Juan Pulido, Flashin Fire covered the 350 yards in :17.480 seconds, equaling a 99 speed index with a 16 mph tailwind. The fastest qualifier from the October 10th trials went off as the post-time favorite, returning $4.20 to win.

Santos Carrizales, Jr. conditions the multiple stakes winning son of First Moonflash for owner Josefina Guzman. The sorrel gelding has a four-race win streak that started July 16th at Ruidoso Downs in a trial for the RG1 Zia QH Futurity. He returned to win the $319,804 futurity on August 1st, then won his aforementioned trial for the New Mexico Classic Futurity.

Bred by Donna McPherson and Mike Abraham, from the Walk Thru Fire mare Episode Of Fire, Flashin Fire picked up $147,461 to boost his bankroll to $292,010.

Runner-up Jess Ring The Bell finished strong under jockey Mauro Salcedo for owner NJ Farms, LLC. Jorge Morales-Flores trains the Jess A Chicks gelding out of First Tinkerbell by First Down Dash.

Bred by W.L. and Dee Mooring, Jess Ring The Bell earned $51,159 for his effort. A finalist in both the Zia QH Futurity(RG1) and the Mountain Top QH Futurity(RG2), Jess Ring The Bell has banked $92,445 this year.

Daddies Wish was moved up to third after Lmg First Call was disqualified for interference and placed fifth. Eric Valenzuela trains the Big Daddy Cartel filly for owners Julie Schoenhofer and Maricela Vasquez. Bred by MJ Farms , from the Stel Corona mare Wish You Had One To, Daddies Wish earned $33,094 for the effort. Adrian Ramos had the riding call.

Completing the official order of finish were Liarliarlegsonfire, Lmg First Call, Rz Richy, Illegal Review, Jesses Dinero, Rally Up The Alley and Smittin.
