Muy Peligrosito Dominates Grade 2 $100,000 Southwest Juvenile Invitational Championship

HOBBS, NM—DECEMBER 5, 2021—Muy Peligrosito raced to his third consecutive win on Sunday when he defeated Classy Moon by one-length in the $100,000 Grade 2 $100,000 Southwest Juvenile Invitational Championship at Zia Park.

Under jockey Adrian Ramos Muy Peligrosito completed the 440 yards in :22.038 seconds, equaling a 90 speed index into an 11 mph headwind. Coming off a win in the $200,000 All American Juvenile at Ruidoso Downs in his last start, the son of a leading second-crop sire One Fabulous Eagle picked up $56,400 for this win.

Albert Valles trains the 2-year-old gelding for owner Abelardo Gallegos. Bred in Mexico by Darling Farms and Jaime Gomez, Muy Peligrosito has won three of four starts and banked $145,200. He is out of the Walk Thru Fire mare Peligrosita.

Runner-up Classy Moon earned $18,800 for owner-breeders Sissie and Bob McClure. Mario Delgado had the riding call, for trainer Fred Danley, aboard the First Moonflash colt out of Shez Classy Now by Now I Know. The lightly raced 2-year-old has compiled a (5) 1-1-1- record and earned $27,585.

New Mexico State Fair Futurity(RG3) winner Hs Golden Eagle finished a neck back to earn $9,400 for owner Lucina Salas Lopez. Trainer Alfredo Gomez named champion jockey Ricky Ramirez to ride the Osbaldo filly out of Catchthetrain (TB) by Super Special (TB). Bred by Ubaldo Solis, Hs Golden Eagle has earned $230,448 in nine starts this year.

Ls Jacks Back, Cowboy Zulu, Apolinaria Prize, Holland Rock, Jess Ring The Bell, Strong Soul and Bad Kompany completed the field.
